Half of children experience age discrimination
Around a half of children and young people have been victims of age discrimination, according to a recent survey.
The survey, carried out by ICM for the Children's Rights Alliance for England (Crae) found that 49 per cent of seven- to 17-year-olds said they have been treated unfairly because of their age.
Around a quarter of the same age group say they are treated unfairly during everyday activities such as shopping or using public transport.
A course for young drivers which aims to teach them about the practicalities of owning a car from working in a garage to learning to drive. Spaces still available.

Youth Transport for the Mearns
Youth workers have been opening the St. Laurence Hall every monday night providing young people with a place to hang out with their mates and play music. From Monday 22nd there will be a mini bus going around the Mearns to pick folk up. The service will cost £1 and provides return travel to and from Laurencekirk. Please fill out the form on here if you need a lift.

Nominations open for the Young Scot Awards 2010
The nominations for the Young Scot Awards 2010, run in partnership with the Sunday Mail, are now open. The Awards recognise and celebrate the amazing things young people are doing everyday across Scotland. There are 13 categories inclduing Sport, the Arts, Volunteering, Community and much more. The winners will be announced at a glitzy ceremony held in the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 29th April 2010.

Young Scot Awards 2010
From the Borders to the Shetland Islands young scot want to know about the young people who make Scotland feel proud!
In 2006 young scot launched the very first Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards,and now five years on the event is bigger and better than ever. On Thursday 29th April 2010 over 500 guests will attend the glittering awards ceramony to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Scotland's Young People in 2009.

There are 13 awards, from sports to cultural diversity, democracy and citizenship and volunteering. The final 3 people in each category will get a VIP invitation to attend the awards ceremony the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on Thursday 29th April.

The K&M pocket guide is a guide to life in the Mearns made by young people for young people. The Mearns Youth Forum teamed up with the Portlethen Action Team and the Stonehaven Monday Night Youth Group to make this totally rad pocket guide. The pocket guide has heaps of good information on many topics what effect young folks in the now a-days. We are all totally stoked about the pocket, and it will available for you young peeps in medical centres and the like.
