The Mearns Youth Forum

  "The Mearns Youth Forum aim to make the Mearns the best place to be a young person in Aberdeenshire.

Mearns Youth Forum (M-TEAM) was created in 2001 by the young people of the Mearns who rallied together to get The Venue reopened.

We will do this by giving a voice to young people in the Mearns;

• reeling in more young people to represent other young folks in the Mearns;
• challenging council folk, community organisations, school and colleges to ask young people what they think about things that effect them;
• giving support, information and advice to Mearns younguns;
• and organising funsome youth events and raising funds for our programmes and activities."

As well as our own campaigns and activities our members are active in many forums including:

• MAP (Mearns Area Partnership - a local rural partnership)
•  Mearns Sexual Health Steering group
•  Laurencekirk Medical Practice Patient Forum
•  The New Mearns Academy steering group
